Our family is currently in self-isolation, we’re trying to do what we can to flatten the curve and to keep our families safe. During the last 3 decades, we never experienced anything like this. I only remember the 2003 black out.

When you have a young family, you’re probably wondering what do I need to stock up on? I’ve compiled a list based that can help you stock up.

Baby Essentials

  • Diapers
    • 1 month’s worth – also think larger sizes if your kid in in-between sizes
  • Formula
    • If your baby is still on formula I would try to keep at least 1-2 months worth of formula at home. And I would also consider keeping some powdered formula as a back up.
    • Take a look at online delivery options on Amazon or well.ca
  • If your baby is under 6 months, I would try to purchase some sleepers in larger sizes

Medication

  • If anyone in your family is on medication, see how you can store extra at home
  • Tylenol / Infant Tylenol

Food

  • Produce that last (Potatoes, butternut squash, acorn squash, apples, oranges)
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Frozen and canned fruits and veggies
  • Frozen meats
  • Water (who knows – might need it)
  • Fruit pouches
  • Shelf stable snacks
  • Cheese

Other household goods

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sanitizing wipes
    • These are two things I wished I purchased before they were sold out everywhere
  • Toilet paper – within reason!
  • Hand soap
  • Sanitary products

During this time, it’s best to stay home. Take a look at delivery options.

There are a number of grocery stores that offer delivery. And with the age of Amazon, you can find a lot of your essential items online.
