As a new mom, I want my baby to have the best. When JT was a brand new baby, we liked using the regular Pampers Swaddlers (Sesame Street version). It was absorbent, cost effective and the wetness indicator helped since we had no idea what we were doing at the time.
As his skin became more sensitive, I wanted to explore further options. This was for a number of reasons…
- The new Pampers Swaddlers was different… (smells stronger, appear thinner and I hated the new graphics)
- I wanted something scent-free/lotion free
- I prefer something more green
- He’s starting to wear his diapers longer
I started to explore a variety of brands, ranging from Honest company, Seventh Generation, Parasol, including Pampers Pure.
Because we have so many different diapers at home, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of his diapers with a friend of ours. I figured it would be a good way for them to test different diapers without investing in a pack.
I remember back when we bought a large box of Huggies Little Snugglers from Costco. It was on sale so each diaper worked out to be around 14 cents. But for JT, Huggies was not a great fit. I liked that the design looks thought out, but all the extra frills made it harder to wear – and most of the time I was cleaning poo stains from his clothes, his bedsheets… my bedsheets. Not to mention it was such a large box to go through.
To create my sampler pack, I bought a package of clear cellophane bags. I grabbed around six size 3 diapers for each pack or whatever comfortably fits in the bag. To finish, I added some notes on each bag (size, brand, pros of each one).
My hope was to create something useful for new parents who are also open to trying different brands to find what works best for their family.
What are your thoughts on this? Helpful or strange since it’s considered “loose diapers” once opened lol!
